The Artist
After classical studies, A Gilleron Prod'homme devoted herself to teaching and at the same time diligently attended classes at the Grande Chaumière Academy, which led her to making numerous real life sketches of nudes. In her view  this school contributed something precious and irreplaceable: the art of drawing, essential in the composition of a painting and the key to its structure and framework.

Evening classes at the Versailles Beaux Arts followed and allowed her to discover plaster sculptures and other compositions which fascinated her and inspired her to fill several books of drawings.

With her degree and Master of Arts behind her, she decided that her vocation was in the world of the arts, and she devoted herself entirely to painting and drawing.
She returned to the Grande Chaumière Academy, where she was taught with talent and consideration by Yves Brayer, famous for his compositions of Provence and works inspired by his visits to South America and other places, assisted by an excellent 'lead pupil' sculptor, René Driay.

At this time she took part for several years in the Autumn Salon at the Grand Palais and sold some of her canvasses on show, especially Flowers and Fruits.
This was followed by her own exhibitions in her home town, thanks to the municipality providing a space well suited to exhibiting her works to best effect and gaining the appreciation of the public and  purchasers alike.
She also took part in shared exhibitions in Paris and the Paris area, and in other regions of France, notably Toulouse, Cannes and Normandy, where she won a number of prizes.

Her last exhibition was in 2002, and resulted in around thirty canvasses leaving the rails in the hands of buyers.
Since then she has worked continuously  on commissions from private art lovers and her most recent works have been on an equine theme.
Using themes as varied as music, still life and portraits, she expresses in her paintings a transcendent and mysterious reality.
